Hello, I'm Dr. Courtney Durrum. I am a wife to the love of my life, Bubba Durrum, a mother of three beautiful children, Matthew, Rita, and Dalton, and I am a Doctor of Chiropractic. I have been honored to serve my hometown community of Mt. Pleasant and the surrounding area since 2000. I am a 1994 honor graduate of MPHS, attended NTCC for two years of undergraduate studies, and a 1999 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA.
When asked how or why I chose chiropractic, my answer is always the same, 'I never considered anything but chiropractic. It has always been and will always be what I am meant to do. I was 8 years old the first time I was told by Uncle Bill Priefert that I would be our family's first doctor - a doctor of chiropractic.' He had discovered what my mom had already experienced while she was pregnant with my baby sister - I had the 'gift' of touch. This is purely a God-given gift that I was blessed to discover at a very young age. Because I discovered this at such a young age and because of my goal driven, determined personality I was able to graduate as a doctor at the very young age of 23!
As a Chiropractor, I believe I am truly serving God and fulfilling my purpose and calling in life. I have committed myself to constantly growing and learning so that I am able to provide my patients with the very best care possible. I also 'live' the lifestyle I teach. As a chiropractor I have found that my duties go far beyond being a doctor to also being a teacher, coach, mentor, prayer warrior and friend to my patients. In return my patients have been the very same to me! It is a wonderful life!
My approach to chiropractic is fairly simple: remove the nerve interference and allow the body to heal itself as God designed it to. I believe it is of utmost importance to work in cooperation with the natural healing systems God put in place rather than attempting to override or mask pain and symptoms with drugs and medications.Your nervous system controls & regulates every function of your body. In order for anyone to truly be healthy there must be complete, clear - 100% communication between the brain and all body organs and systems. Virtually all pain, sickness & disease can be directly linked back to the region of spinal injury and interference. (Be sure to check out the 3D Spine Simulator on our home page!)
The techniques I use for adjusting are very gentle and effective. I believe this is what really sets us apart from the other chiropractors of our region. The technique I use is called Torque Release/MC2. Two instruments are used for adjusting: an integrator and a Sigma instrument (aka ProAdjustor). The technique uses a 'tonal' approach to gently correct any interference to the nervous system - no twisting, snapping or popping. Our patients range in age from 1 day to 99! That's right!! Kids love getting adjusted & grow up healthier & happier when they have clear nervous systems!
I us a 'whole person approach' to health care. This approach to wellness means looking for underlying causes of any disturbance or disruption (which may or may not be causing symptoms at the time) and make whatever interventions and lifestyle adjustments that would optimize the conditions for healing and normal function. Using this unique approach, I am able to help you to accelerate and continue to grow in your journey to good health.
I am available for speaking engagements of most any sort: personal, clubs, church groups etc. If I can be of any assistance to you please do not hesitate to contact me.

That made her a perfect fit for our clinic!Gigi has made hormone pelleting a part of her healthy lifestyle for 5+ years, and believes it’s part of the reason she can enjoy working out and being active as much as she does.
